2012 Community Service Project Even though the current school year isn’t over yet, our next project involves the next school year and we want to get a jump start on it so we’re not scrambling in the final weeks leading up to the opening of school. Our chapter will be collecting supplies for two elementary school teachers, Ms. Wetherington and Mr. Lassiter, in an effort to ease things for them and their young charges. The list will have additions in the near future.   Scholarship and Mentoring Program The Chapter is fortunate to assist Tallahassee Community College (TCC) with its legal assisting program. Members are frequent lecturers and instructors within the program.  In addition, several Chapter members sit on the Academic Advisory Board.  Students participating in the TCC legal assisting program are eligible for the yearly scholarship(s) offered by the Big Bend Chapter. We are pleased that scholarships are also available to eligible applicants  enrolled in the paralegal programs at Barry University and Keiser College.    Meetings Our Chapter meets at 12:00 noon on the 2nd Thursday of every month, at the Capital City Country Club, 1601 Golf Terrace Drive (850-222-0419).  Advance reservations are required and can be made by contacting our Member at Large, La’Tashsua Hugans, no later than noon on the Monday before the meeting.  Cost is $18.00 for Chapter Members, and $23.00 for non-members.  Linda O’Steen Memorial Scholarship Our Chapter is proud to announce the first recipients of the Linda O’Steen Memorial Scholarship, Barbara Buccini and Tiffany Frazier.
